Workshops & Classes
Plus and Advanced Program
The Martinez Swingers offer both PLUS and Advanced level dancing. Our Advanced Program Workshop meets most Tuesdays and our Plus Program Workshop meets most Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:30pm each night. We dance at the Pacheco Community Center.
Our Caller is Mike Wright. We dance and workshop Plus/Advanced program calls including exploring the less common starting positions.
The Guest Fee for our Workshop Nights is $12. Regular Plus participants are asked to become Members. Membership Dues are $40/month for single night Plus or Advanced Workshop members.
Youth Associate Memberships are available for either Workshop for under 18 year old family of Adult Members. Youth Associate Dues are $20 per month for each workshop.
Plus and Advanced Classes
The Martinez Swingers sponsor classes for new dancers aspiring to dance SSD (Social Square Dancing or beginner square dancing) and Plus. Plus level dancing, which is the next level above SSD, is the most commonly danced level of square dancing in the Bay Area. For this reason our class series starts with SSD and then continues with Plus level instruction. For confident Plus dancers, we also offer classes to learn Advanced levels 1 and 2.
Class is taught inline with Workshops from 7:30 to 9:00pm. Experienced members join throughout the evening to partner with students as "Angels" to accelerate the learning process.

Two FREE Open Houses to try SSD will be conducted from
7:30-9:00pm on Wednesday September 24th & October 1st
An introductory 7-week "semester" will be offered beginning Wednesday September 18th. There will be three semesters throughout the entire class series as we work through SSD and Plus class.
Each semester is offered at $40 per dancer or $20 for youth under 18.
Youth (<18yo) attending either Classes or Workshops must be accompanied by an Adult taking the class.
