Square Dancing in Martinez since 1962
Preserve, promote, and practice the art of Square and Round Dancing.
Provide opportunities for regular low impact exercise through Square and Round Dance.
Instill a spirit of camaraderie among fellow Square Dancers of all ages, both inside and outside the Square Dance venue.
The Martinez Swingers host four weekend Party Dances (aka 'Hoedowns') each year, inviting dancers and members of the over 30 Bay Area Square Dance Clubs to dance with us!
Themes typically include one with Concord's own Ghost Riders Square Dance Band (live music), two including Plus and Advanced Tips, and one specifically for Newer Dancers as they progress to dancing the Plus Program.
The Martinez Swingers host Square Dance Workshops for Club Members & Guests twice each week on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 7:00 to 10:00pm.
We dance CallerLab's Advanced program on Tuesdays and Plus on Wednesdays most weeks at Pacheco Community Center.
Visitors are welcome!
Classes for new dancers at each level are scheduled for the first 90 minutes of Workshops when they are in session (see Workshops Page for details).
The Martinez Swingers Square Dance Club is a California Mutual Benefit Corporation operating as a 501(c)(7) Social Club.
